More than learning — building confidence, one little step at a time.
As both a mother and a teacher, I know that every child is unique and learns in their own way. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, understood and encouraged to be themselves.
For me, it’s not about being perfect or getting everything right. It’s about having the confidence to try, the freedom to make mistakes and the joy of discovering what you can achieve.
Sometimes, simply showing up and having a go is an achievement in itself. I want every child to feel proud of their little steps, knowing that with patience, encouragement and a little magic, those steps can lead to wonderful things.
I believe in celebrating effort as much as achievement, recognising that progress looks different for every child, and giving children the time and support they need to flourish.
♡ Every child deserves to feel capable, valued and proud of themselves. ♡
Why I Teach the Way I Do
My approach isn’t just something I teach — it’s something I believe in because I’ve experienced what it can feel like to need it.
There is so much more to my teaching than phonics, reading and writing. It’s about building relationships, earning trust, nurturing confidence, recognising individual needs and helping children believe in themselves. It’s about noticing the little things, celebrating the progress others might overlook and understanding that every child has their own journey.
My passion for this approach comes from my own childhood. I was the youngest in my class, with some children nearly a year older than me, and I often felt left behind.
Looking back, I wonder how different things might have been if I’d had someone who understood how that felt — someone who could slow things down, talk things through, explore ideas with me and give me the time I needed, rather than feeling that learning had to move on before I was ready.
That experience has stayed with me throughout my life and shaped the teacher I am today. As both a mother and a teacher, I understand how important it is for children to feel seen, heard and supported, not just academically but emotionally, too.
I want to be that person for the children I teach: someone who meets them where they are, walks alongside them and helps them find their own way forward. Sometimes that means revisiting the basics, sometimes building confidence before tackling a challenge, and sometimes simply making learning fun again.
If I’d had access to this kind of support in my own early years, I believe it could have made a real difference. That’s why I want to offer children what I know can matter so much: a little more time, a different approach, patient encouragement and the freedom to learn without feeling rushed or left behind.
I don’t expect every child to learn in the same way or at the same pace. I want to help them discover what works for them, recognise their strengths and understand that mistakes are part of learning, not a reason to give up.
♡ I know how it can feel to be the child who needs a little longer. That’s why I want every child I teach to feel that they have the time, understanding and support they deserve. ♡
